Got Rice ?

We received 2 boxes of rice today from FMSC. Thanks to Lori and Brent, fellow adoptive parents , for getting it shipped to us :) In order to get it to Haiti we will be packing it in our suitcases. Each box weighs about 33 lbs. This is not the only rice though. Several families will also be transporting rice along with other needed supplies in their luggage to Haiti . Hopefully this will help the orphanage with their food supply for a few months. On my side bar under other links of interest is a link for Feed My starving Children. Check it out ! The process of how they package the rice and what is in it is very interesting :)

Yeah for FMSC rice! No doubt in my mind that it's saved lives at our little O since we started bringing it last October.

It's funny how you'll pack for this trip and suddenly decide that you really don't NEED a week's worth of clothes for yourself- the rice is more important - and so you'll throw a little tide in a bag and handwash your clothes in the sink. People who think this is a vacation have no idea what you're about to do. And people who pack for normal trips have never had to weigh whether or not each item they were going to pack was worth its weight in rice. :)
